چکیده

Orthaga achatina Butler is an important pest of camphor trees in Asia. The complete mitochondrial genome O. was sequenced this study, which 15,150 bp size and comprised 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA 2 ribosomal a control region. Besides, we used phylogenomic approach to infer evolutionary relationships 23 Lepidoptera species based on conserved protein sequences the genome. Our results underline potential importance genomes comparative genomic analyses provide robust insight across tree insects.

Biochemical analysis of silk proteins of the mango leaf webber, Orthaga exvinacea Hampson (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

The mango leaf webber, Orthaga exvinacea makes silken webs and galleries during its larval stage. Silk is produced from the silk gland of this insect. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of proteins from the silk glands of last three larval stages and pre-pupae were conducted. Significant differences were observed among different stages. SDS-PAGE of proteins from anterior, middle and posterio...

The complete mitochondrial genome of Rondotia menciana (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae)

The mulberry white caterpillar, Rondotia menciana Moore (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae) is a species with closest relationship with Bombyx mori and Bombyx mandarina, and the genetic information of R. menciana is important for understanding the diversity of the Bombycidae. In this study, the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of R. menciana was amplified by polymerase chain reaction and sequenced. The ...

Characterization of the Complete Mitochondrial Genomes of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis and Chilo suppressalis (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae)

The complete mitochondrial genomes (mitogenomes) of Cnaphalocrocis medinalis and Chilo suppressalis (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) were determined and analyzed. The circular genomes were 15,388 bp long for C. medinalis and 15,395 bp long for C. suppressalis. Both mitogenomes contained 37 genes, with gene order similar to that of other lepidopterans. Notably, 12 protein-coding genes (PCGs) utilized th...

Complete sequence of the mitochondrial genome of the Japanese buff-tip moth, Phalera flavescens (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae).

We sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of Phalera flavescens. The mitogenome is 15,659 bp in length, including 13 protein-coding genes (atp6, atp8, cox1-3, nad1-6, nad4L, cob), two ribosomal RNAs (rrnS and rrnL), 22 transfer RNAs and an AT-rich region, a putative control region (D-loop). Gene order and orientation were found to be identical to those of other completely sequenced lepidop...

Characterization of the complete mitochondrial genome of the giant silkworm moth, Eriogyna pyretorum (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae)

The complete mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of Eriogyna pyretorum (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae) was determined as being composed of 15,327 base pairs (bp), including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 2 rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes, and a control region. The arrangement of the PCGs is the same as that found in the other sequenced lepidopteran. The AT skewness for the E. pyretorum mitogenome is slight...
